Did you know you don't always need to make an appointment with your GP to get referred for other services? You can refer yourself for antenatal care, counselling, sexual health, stop smoking support and more.
That’s why we’ve launched a new NHS self-referral feature in Patient Access, giving patients reliable background information and easy links to finding self-referral services from the trusted resources at Patient.Info
You can find the trusted NHS self-referral services in Patient Access by clicking the ‘NHS self-referral services’ button on the homepage in your Patient Access app. You can contact the Patient Access team with any questions by clicking the ‘Contact Support’ button on this page.
You can register for most self-referral services online. In some cases you can refer yourself by phoning rather than emailing or by completing an online form. You can now find these services in Patient Access by clicking on the service you're interested in, then search your area for a simple link to the easiest way to access the service.
Self-referral services vary by area though - and they might be provided by a variety of organisations, all approved and commissioned by the NHS.
If you can’t find the information you need, you can also try searching the NHS website or contact your GP practice.
