When you nominate a Smart Pharmacy, you will choose to begin receiving notifications relating to the status of a medication request. The information below explains each status, and what it means. For more information on Smart Pharmacy, click here.
Prescription status | What does this mean? | In app, push notification or email? |

Your GP practice received your medication order | Your medication request has been sent to your GP practice by Patient Access and has not yet been actioned by a GP. | This status will be visible in the app. A push notification or email will not be sent. |
Your GP approved your medication | Your GP has approved all the medications included in your request. The prescriptions are now ready to be downloaded by the pharmacy. | This status will be visible in the app, and a push notification will be sent. An email will not be sent. |
Your GP approved part of your medication order | Your GP has reviewed your request and has rejected some of the medications. Any approved medications are now ready to be downloaded by the pharmacy. | This status will be visible in the app. A push notification and an email will also be sent. |
Your GP rejected your medication order | Your GP has rejected your medication request. If your GP hasn’t added a reason to the rejection, please contact your GP practice to discuss further. | This status will be visible in the app. A push notification and an email will also be sent. |
Medication order cancelled | You have cancelled your medication request from patient access before it could be reviewed by a GP. | There is currently a known defect that advises a GP has cancelled a request when it has actually been cancelled by the patient. This will be fixed in an upcoming release |
Your pharmacy will start preparing your medication | The pharmacy has downloaded at least one of your prescriptions. Note: There may or may not be more prescriptions yet to be downloaded. | This status will be visible in the app. A push notification or email will not be sent. |
Your pharmacy will start preparing your approved medication soon | Your pharmacy has downloaded the prescription where some requested medications were rejected by your GP. The rejected medications will not be visible to the pharmacy but you can see them within Patient Access.

Your pharmacy is preparing your medication | Your pharmacy has started the process of preparing your medications. This process includes labelling boxes and gathering the required medications. | This status will be visible in the app. A push notification or email will not be sent. |
Part of your medication not dispensed by your pharmacy | The pharmacy has marked some medication items as “not dispensed”.There are a number of reasons for this and your pharmacy will be able to provide further detail.

Medication order not dispensed | Your pharmacy has marked all medication as “not dispensed”. There are a number of reasons for this and your pharmacy will be able to provide further detail. | This status will be visible in the app. A push notification and an email will also be sent. |
Part of your medication ready to collect | Your pharmacy has marked some medication items as “ready to collect”. Your pharmacy will notify you as the remaining items become “ready to collect”. You may wish to wait for all items to be ready or you may collect the ones that are ready now and others at a later date. There are a number of reasons that medications may not be “ready to collect”, your pharmacy will be able to provide further detail.

Part of your medication on its way | Your pharmacy has marked some medication items as “dispatched” and they will be delivered to you. Your pharmacy will notify you as the remaining items are “dispatched”. There are a number of reasons that medications may not be “dispatched”, your pharmacy will be able to provide further detail. Note: Only patients that have signed up to a prescription delivery service will receive this status. | This status will be visible in the app. A push notification and an email will also be sent. |
Medication on the way to you | Your pharmacy has marked all medication items as “dispatched” and they will be delivered to you. Note: Only patients that have signed up to a prescription delivery service will receive this status. | This status will be visible in the app. A push notification and an email will also be sent. |
Your medication order | This is an exception status when an overall status could not be determined due to various statuses of the medications. You will need to view the status of each of the medications you requested within the app. | No |
